WIP Wednesday.....

I haven't been doing much crafting recently. Mostly sorting stuff to give away or throw away in my attempts to downsize for our eventual house move. It really is shocking what you can accumulate in 40 years. The things I have found that I didn't even know we owned...LOL Oh well:) Also isn't it amazing that when you put something at the bottom of the driveway it disappears. Magic. I'm so happy when that happens. Someone has found a use for what I have to let go.

The reason we are moving is to be closer to these two......Megan and her new brother Benjamin. A sweet little boy born in February.

Despite all this I have done a wee bit of sewing.....

I had originally made a little bird nest of fibers on a CQ block. Then I decided I didn't like the fabrics that I had used so it went in to my "maybe later" pile.

I was sorting out stuff the other day and found the block again and I thought what a shame. So a wee bit of recycling was done and the nest was incorporated into the middle of an EPP block I had made some time ago.

It was an EPP block I made when I was learning how to do the technique. I wasn't too adept in joining the pieces and you can see my stitches. Now I can cover them up with some CQ seam treatments. Bonus!!

So it'll be EPP meets CQ :)

Take care.

  1. Ooooh - a good reason to move if there ever was one! Having done the move from a house into an apartment I certainly feel for you. It's not easy sorting through so much stuff, altho' hopefully you're moving to a smaller house and not into an apartment or condo which requires even more weeding.

  2. Good luck on the de-stashing. I feel for you. I would hate to do it. Years of accumulated 'stuff' really does surprise one when one is going through it all. My husband and I got lucky because most of our grandchildren live within walking distance and we see them all regularly. You will enjoy yourselves immensely.

    1. I can't wait Delores. We do see them but not often enough.

  3. We did a LOT of clearing out when we renovated our kitchen. And now, that is leading to closets. It is so refreshing to ditch all this junk around here! I dread the fabric stash though....

I can see why you are decluttering! What a beautiful photo of the grandchildren!

    1. It is truly shocking what you can accumulate over the years. I did a big de-stashing and a local charity took quite a lot of fabric. Stuff that I knew I'd never use so it wasn't hard to part with. Now I have to go through what's left.

  5. Those are two very good reasons for moving! Such a sweet photo of Megan and Benjamin. I wish you all the best in your future move.

Lovely choice of fabrics for the EPP quilt block.

If you leave a comment and I don't respond it's because I didn't get an email notice. It could be because you are a "no reply" blogger. Here is a way to fix that......http://morefromyourblog.com/no-reply-blogger-how-to-fix-this/
