The Story of Keep Calm and Carry On

  1. Mary Ann, thank you so much for sharing this video. I am sure that the young folks today who parody this iconic poster have no idea under what circumstances the original was created. I learned something new as well, I had no idea that this poster was not distributed during WWII and was only recently discovered. I agree with the commentator in this video, the message is not one to be trivialized but should be remembered and honored as it was created. Thanks again, Deb

  2. Such a lovely comment by Deb.
I think the older I get the more I realise how lucky I am as I come from a generation after the 2nd world war.

  4. An amazing and interesting video. I had a vague idea it was a war slogan but didn't know the full story.

  5. Ohh! This is a gem! I used to live near Alnwick, but I haven't visited there for years. I knew the poster was an unreleased wartime design and that it was found in a northern England bookshop, but I didn't know exactly where. This is a lovely little film and yes, it pinpoints exactly the universal appeal of the message.

And my, that looks like a lovely bookshop! Just perfect... Thank you SO MUCH for sharing!

  6. I think it's a simple, yet important message to keep in mind--at all times. It's incredible that they found this...after all that time.

Great story and video--I never knew it was never used or released.

If you leave a comment and I don't respond it's because I didn't get an email notice. It could be because you are a "no reply" blogger. Here is a way to fix that......http://morefromyourblog.com/no-reply-blogger-how-to-fix-this/
