Here is my January block. I have only done one fan block before in a class I took with Kathy Shaw. I wasn't a fan then (of fan blocks not Kathy) and I'm still not. It's all about seams and trying to harmonize them I guess. I found this really hard to do. So I just did my own thing.
Take care:)
It's lovely, even if you're not a fan of fans. I do like green, especially a range of shades.
ReplyDeleteThank you :) Love greens too but it was hard to find colours to use with so much greenness.
DeleteI'm with you regarding a dislike for fans. I like the look of them but they aren't easy to stitch. The embroidery almost has to start out very narrow and then widen towards the outside edge and it's not easy to accomplish. Having said that, your block looks great!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I think with nice satin and silk and lace maybe it would be okay. The plain colours were difficult.
DeleteBeautiful hand-work!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteSo pretty, I love your crazy quilt stitching.
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteYou just can't make any mistakes with a crazy block.....yours is just stunning. Love the greens and, yes, I love the fan......so much gorgeous detail!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much :)
DeleteThis has turned out beautiful, pretty stitching and added beads.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Sheryl :)
DeleteSorry to hear you're not a fan of the fan blocks. I happen to like them very much. Your embroidery is such a treat to view.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Oh I like them if someone else does them :) I found it hard to get started with the seam treatments.
