It's the April new moon and so it's TUSAL time......

 What is TUSAL......

To find out more please visit Daffycat:)

The full moon of April is called the Pink Moon.

The name Pink Moon comes from  “moss pink,” or wild ground phlox—one of the first spring flowers. Other names for this full moon are Sprouting Grass Moon, Fish Moon, Hare Moon, Egg Moon, and Paschal Moon.

According the the Farmer's Almanac a full moon in April brings frost. However, if the full moon rises pale, expect rain. I bet you really wanted to know that...right?

It did rain but it was freezing rain that turned to snow. We have winter back again. Sigh.

Take care:)

  1. Oh geez. You got worse weather than we did. My daffodils are up and bloomed. The ducks come to the pond pretty often. My fish are coming to life, but still the weather does not cooperate and become Spring.

  2. Carol it got even worse. It was terrible yesterday. Rain, rain and more rain that froze solid. We were without power this morning and they have as yet not cleaned our street :(

  4. After reading your post I found myself searching the web to look for the "Pink Moon'. It's really beautiful. It seems the early Colonial Americans used those names. Thanks for the fun facts Mary Ann.
And yes, it snowed here too. Where's spring?

  6. Spring is certainly taking her sweet time this year - if she comes at all. I have a sneaking suspicion we're going to totally miss it and it will just turn hot all of a sudden. Stay safe!
